Daylight cycle, REPOST
Posted 9 years ago If there is an actual server daylight cycle, rps would be more realistic. Players would be able to sleep and actually react like it was a real life thing(even though an rp is not real life). And for those who don't want it can use /ptime to pause it and they are happy aswell.
The reason i'm reposting this is because the last post no one really got to see since other wonderful suggestions dragged it down, and I also thought of the topic again, please do not lock until others reply. 1 like |
Posted 9 years ago WHY ADD NOT DAYLIGHT/ 1 like |
Posted 9 years ago Once again, this is something only YOU want. If others wanted it, they would of had plenty of time to reply back. Another server has it? good for them. That doesn't mean we have to add it.

Posted 9 years ago I never said you had to, it's called a suggestion for a reason 1 like |
Posted 9 years ago I think this is a very necessary thing to do, not just for RPs, but this seems like something relevant to make it more realistic. Think about it in the long term, people build houses and they can't sleep--even if they use /ptime or /plot time--so building houses are almost just for looks now instead of actually being able to use them like you could realistically.

With that, also consider how if people don't want the worlds natural way of doing the daylight cycle, they can choose not to be affected use /plot time or /ptime to make themselves defiant to the time/light change.

Posted 9 years ago Another thing is, for RPs, it could have it set to have the plot follow a day/night cycle if need be.

Posted 9 years ago But if that happens, you would not be able to sleep because the whole entire server isn't at nighttime. 1 like |

Pat can easily as make it possible for you to sleep without it needing to affect the entire server. Also, Wyatt. Not everyone builds houses and structures for the purpose of them being used as they would, in real life. I do believe only role-players do that.

Posted 9 years ago Well if Pat does that, there would still be the problem that daylight sensors can't work, so some nighttime contraptions wouldn't be able to work, if there is a daylight cycle through out the server, the problems wouldn't exist and those who don't want to have their client-side day changed can do a simple command to toggle it on or off. A simple command like /ptime cycle off/on could work.
