Protect my bases so if the 1.9 transfer takes over a month, my bases won't be cleared.

Are you talking about survival or creative? Creative won't be reset at all so you don't need to worry about your plots being cleared so what process you have, it won't get lost. As for survival, the entire map would be reset.
