Forum Suggestion
Posted 10 years ago Hey all! Andy again.Im am suggesting today an idea for the forums, and it is brought to my attention sometimes staff members are reported for abusing power, or such. I believe that staff members who were reported cannot LOCK the topic, they may though reply to it ~Andy

Posted 10 years ago Funnily enough I didn't lock the topic you're on about, I know this is aimed at that. Â |
Posted 10 years ago The matter was dealt with and, as Jack already pointed out, the topic wasn't locked by him. |
Posted 10 years ago Nevertheless Jack. We could simply not make this regarding you and look at the suggestion It's not a bad idea, but not a good one. Many flawed points really.

Posted 10 years ago Well, I think forum locking is something that should be used only when neccessary regarding topics in places where they dont have to be strict. I suggest that General Discussion topics be locked after a warning. Or when the topics goes REEEALLLY off topic. Locking of such topics is like a buzzkill. it kills all the fun. If its an arguement or people insulting each other. You could issue and warning and then lock it if the warning is not heeded to. And is Ban Appeals. I suggest that the player have a chance to fully speak up for himself. I noticed that the posts are locked before one could fully explain themselves. I'm not faulting the staff. They are doing their jobs in whatever way they seem fit. I appreciate that they maintain order and prevent chaos on the server. But, unless all the staff or Pat has decided that the player should stay banned. I don't think the Ban appeals should be locked. I don't think suggestions should be locked either. Maybe posts that don't pertain to the topic could be deleted. Locking a suggestion topic would prevent additional comments which could help improve the server. They would have to make a new seperate topic to voice their opinions. I don't mean to fault or offend anyone. So, please don't be offended. 1 like |

Posted 10 years ago Yeah, the reports on Staff are usually immediately locked. Or at least earlier than others. There would be a reason a player reports someone. And that reason should be looked into and learnt from so as to avoid future conflicts. You may be wondering who i might be to give such advice? I'm actually Dumbledore and Gandalf in disguise. I was once young and foolish. I am now Old and wise. Well, Maybe still young. But, definitely wise. 1 like |
Posted 10 years ago "Yeah, the reports on Staff are usually immediately locked. Or at least earlier than others." All reports are locked as soon as we've dealt with them. How fast they are dealt with simply depends on whether a staff member is available or not when the report is created. Looking at the 5 most recent reports against staff members, they were dealt with in 7 h 41 min, 3h 47 min, 1 h 37 min, 40 min, and 33 min respectively after they were posted. The 5 most recently solved player reports were dealt with in 8 days, 24 min, 15 min, 7 min, and 2 min respectively. That reports against staff members would generally be locked sooner than regular reports is a baseless statement. Furthermore, locking topics is how us staff members keep track of what has been dealt with and what hasn't. If you think that a locked topic wasn't dealt with properly, you can either create a new one or ask a staff member to re-open the topic for you. |
Posted 10 years ago Hmm, I stand corrected. I withdraw my statements.
