Next time this happens, try to connect to other servers (and check http://xpaw.ru/mcstatus/) to make sure it's not a Minecraft-wide problem. Others were online at the time this topic was created and I'm currently able to join even though the server hasn't been restarted.

Yeah that's weird, it was probably just a hiccup in the authentication service or something along those lines.
