MCMMO Discussion

As per Pat's post:

We've decided that we are going to add MCMMO. However, we've created a list of skills that will be disabled or nerfed, since we feel that they are too op and abusable.

Skills that we think should be completely disabled:

Armor Impact - Gives a chance to increased damage to armored foes.

Our reasoning: If a player has spent time to get good armor, they should be difficult to kill.

Iron Arm Style - Iron Arm Style is a passive ability that increases the base unarmed combat damage. It starts at a 3 damage point bonus; added to the vanilla minecraft punch, it gives a total of 4 damage points, or 2 hearts. It increases by 1 point every 50 levels, until it hits a bonus of 8 damage, or 9 damage points total, at level 250.

Our reasoning: This skill gives the player too much bonus damage, even in the low levels.

Skills that we think should be nerfed:

Skill Shot - This passive ability increase the amount of damage you can deal with bow and arrows. Gains +10% extra damage every 50 levels, with a maximum of +100%. The damage will never exceed 9 though, preventing one-shot kills in PVP.

+75% damage instead of a +100% damage increase at max level.

Limit damage to 7.5 hearts instead of 9 hearts.

Let us know if you think that an ability should or should not be disabled and the reason why you think so. The full list of skills can be found on MCMMO's Wiki

That being said; this thread is to be used in discussion to the removal or nerfing of any skills in MCMMO.

Please keep this post on topic, any off-topic comments will be deleted.  We're looking for input, not people saying "I like [players] idea." You can provide your own input on the whole idea of MCMMO, or some aspects of it.

I will say this again: Please keep this post on topic as much as possible. There's a system for you to like a post if need be, I don't need people agreeing on others ideas by making a post about it.

I don't really think the Herbalism part labeled "Hylian Luck" should be implemented. According to the website,

"Flower pots break Emeralds, Diamonds, or Gold Nuggets."

I'm not too sure if that's fair.

Also, if your Taming skill is level 100, your Dog will always get a critical hit, meaning someone with Diamond armor would go down easier, making the effort of getting all the diamonds for the armor less satisfying.

Then at Taming level 750, it adds EVEN MORE damage to the pet's attack. Making the effort even LESS satisfying.

For Fishing, I don't know if I disagree with the skills above Epic or not, -sigh-.

Thanks for reading, x3

If any of you disagree, that's perfectly fine. But please don't yell at me ;-;

Taming would take an excessive amount of time and effort since it would only apply to horses and dogs.

Okay I must do this I so sowwy:

"Yes, as that may be true, remember that spawn eggs are sold at the Shop. People find Dark Oak forests often, meaning they can have money to buy these thigs with," Kayla pointed out. She knew her point wasn't as valid as it could have been, but it didn't really matter. No one took her seriously either way.

This is a discussion where you argue for or against certain skills. Just because someone makes a counterargument doesn't mean your reply wasn't taken seriously. I can see why you'd think Gore and other Taming skills are too overpowered, so we'll look into lowering the critical strike chance and bonus damage.

Thanks for the input so far.

Uh taming can be done SUPER easily with 1.8 if you right click a spawner with an egg the spawner will change to that mob and the shop sells horse and wolf eggs so ye....

That sounds crazy. When we update to 1.8, we'll probably disable that feature altogether so that spawners can only be changed with /sr.

I didn't mean that it wasn't taken seriously, sorry if what I said implied that.

It's just that no one takes me seriously most of the time x3

I believe unarmed is an op skill because some people could start punching and could get the unarmed skill up quite fast just from like 50 punches plus in one of the abilities in the unarmed it could make the other person drop the item ,thanks for readin
