But, acquiring minecraft alts takes money. So, you buy accounts just for a thirty day VIP. Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy lifetime VIP?

If you buy alts from Mojang, then yes, VIP would be cheaper. I'm not sure about now but there used to be lists of hundreds of confiscated accounts that were sold for a few dollars around the Internet.

Lifetime VIP costs $14. And I'll assume 15 votes is needed to win the giveaway. And I'll also assume the confiscated accounts that were sold around the internet cost $3 dollars. 15 accounts are needed.

So, 15 x 3. Which equals to $45.

It's still cheaper to buy lifetime VIP. 

Even if less votes are needed. Or if the accounts are cheaper. It would most probably be cheaper to either buy the lifetime VIP or get the votes legitimately. (by giving out free hugs.)
